Coach Guards or body protector, Armour Guards, Hogu, Armour Vest and Belly pad as they are sometimes called are a great coaching equipment aid for the trainer. Coach Guards offer protection to the trainers body allowing the fighter to punch to the body. Essential for the trainer when coaching techniques of attack and defense and working on footwork for the martial art's student. When used in conjunction with hook and jab pads or coach spars the student can work on kicks and punching, improving footwork, balance and movement. The body Armour Guards can be worn during sparring of students practicing semi contact or offering extra protection against stray kicks and punches in non contact martial arts or some competitions where allowed.
